Akchour Waterfall Trek from Chefchaouen (KML)
🧠What is this route about?
A tour through one of the most beautiful spots in northern Morocco. The trail starts in the city of Chefchaouen and ends at the entrance to Talassemtane National Park, crossing the Riff Mountains, in a natural setting with villages dedicated to hashish cultivation. It then enters between rock walls and dense vegetation until reaching the famous Akchour Waterfall, a waterfall that, depending on the season, can be impressive or almost nonexistent. You can rest, refresh yourself, or simply enjoy the place.
From this link you can see the blog post where I detail what this experience was like.
✨ What makes this route special?
- The contrast of the green, humid landscape with the arid Moroccan surroundings.
- The villages and hashish fields.
- A chance to come across Gibraltar monkeys (yes, there are macaques!).
- Places to eat on the riverbank with typical Berber food.
- Suitable for independent exploration, without a guide, if you follow the route carefully.
